1. Sign On with WSS
Once you sign on with Worldwide, you'll complete your Intended Parent Profile and Comprehensive Retainer, pay the first half of your agency fee, and be introduced to our Director of Intended Parent Services. She will serve as your primary point of contact through the matching process.
2. Choose Your Fertility Clinic
If you haven't selected a fertility clinic yet, now is the perfect time to do so. While you're making that decision, our team will begin
searching for a right-fit surrogate based on your preferences and your chosen clinic's requirements.
3. Info Session
Start learning about the journey ahead. A licensed social worker will lead an educational session covering what to expect before, during, and after your surrogacy journey.
4. Receive a Surrogate Profile
Once we identify a potential match, you'll receive a surrogate profile to review. If you're interested, our team will discuss the candidate in greater detail so you can make an informed decision. If not, we'll continue searching and presenting additional surrogate profiles.
5. Meet Your Surrogate
Once you and your chosen surrogate mutually approve each other's profiles, we'll schedule a virtual match meeting so you can get to know one another and determine if it's the right fit.
6. It’s a Match!
If the introductory meeting goes well and everyone decides to move forward, it's officially a match! At this stage, the second half of your agency fee and your initial escrow deposit are due. We will also coordinate a virtual, guided joint session with a social worker to review everyone's hopes and expectations for the journey.
7. Testing Appointment
Your fertility clinic will begin the screening process for your surrogate, including her medical evaluation and any required
testing for her spouse or partner. If travel is required, we'll take care of your surrogate's travel arrangements.
8. Contract Phase
Once your physician provides medical clearance, the initial contract will be drafted and sent to you for review. After your
approval, it will be forwarded to your surrogate's attorney for review, negotiation, and final execution.
9. Fund the Escrow
Once the contracts are fully executed, you'll make your escrow funding payment, which
includes your surrogate's base compensation and any additional funds outlined in your
Comprehensive Retainer and Gestational Surrogate Agreement.
10. Legal Clearance is Sent
Once contracts are signed and escrow is fully funded, legal clearance will be provided to your fertility clinic. The clinic will then
coordinate with you and your surrogate to schedule a tentative embryo transfer date.
11. Embryo Transfer
Your surrogate will begin medications and local monitoring per your IVF clinic's protocol and orders. We will initiate travel
arrangements for your surrogate once the doctor clears her for transfer; and she will once again travel to the IVF clinic for the embryo transfer.
12. After the Embryo Transfer
After the embryo transfer, our team will continue to monitor and supervise progress of your surrogacy journey to ensure
everything is going smoothly, answering any and all questions along the way.
13. Establish Legal Parentage
During the pregnancy, we'll coordinate the legal process for your pre-birth or post-birth
parentage order with an attorney in your surrogate's state. We'll also help ensure all birth certificate documentation is completed to establish your legal parentage.
14. Birth Planning
Our team provides birth planning services to coordinate preferences, communication, and logistics with the hospital and care team. Our
goal is to ensure everyone feels prepared, supported, and confident leading up to delivery
15. Welcome Your Baby
Your surrogacy journey has led to this unforgettable moment. Once your surrogate delivers, you'll finally meet your child and begin life together as a family.
